Meet the Instructors at AMS

Nancy Rodzwic

Founder of AMS

Lead Voice and Piano Instructor

Nancy Rodzwic's greatest credential is her love and devotion to music and teaching children. Since the founding of Absolute Music School, Nancy has been the lead instructor for both voice and piano, creating her own method of teaching that seeks to empower students through singing and boost their confidence not just on stage, but in life as well.

In terms of technical education, Nancy has both an undergraduate degree and a Master's degree in vocal performance from Temple University. She has a strong involvement with the county, district, regional, and state choirs. She has received the Arion Award from Council Rock High School and has been part of the Beaver College Workshop for Gifted Vocalists and Pianists for three years. A long-time member of the National Thespian Society, her Broadway appearances include The Fantastics and Sweeney Todd. In the realm of rock music, she has been in such acts as Prizner, Thunderbow, Blues Alley, and MLC.

For her experience in being a teacher of music, she thanks her own teachers: Dr. Lucy Caroll, Dr. Clara Meyers, Prof. Phillip Cho, Dr. Gretta Chonka, Jan Pierce, and Nancy Evers.

Andy Rodzwic

Guitar and Bass Instructor

Andy picked up his first guitar at age seven and then took weekly lessons for 10 years with Bucks & Philly great, Ed Flanagan. Andy played the Jersey shore circuit with in the late 70s with the R&B funk masters, Dead in the Water.

Andy began teaching in 1980 at the Music Barn in Warminster, PA. He attended BCCC and Temple University, earning his musical BA in 1986. Andy's not just a children's instructor, either. He enjoys his older students just as much as his younger ones. He's even been known to get into one-on-one battles and jam sessions, which makes perfect sense. His band, Prisoner, was a popular opening act in the 1980s for Philly bands the A’s, Robert Hazard, and New Jersey’s Pretty Poison. It was also during this time that he met his wife, Nancy.

As a self-described “gear hound” and “ethnomusicologist”, Andy is well-versed in a variety of playing styles. He does not believe in the usual published book method of learning. Instead, he creates custom learning plans that enable his students to achieve their goals on the guitar and bass. Before joining Absolute Music School, Andy had been teaching privately since 1992. Andy can take soloists and groups from the clueless to world-class.
